Sorry for the Delay

Rita got to go home Christmas afternoon. She was able to celebrate the holidays with the family and enjoy some good holiday food.

The next round of chemothrapy will be on January 5th through January 8th, 2006.

We are so thankful that the treatment is going well. Rita's spirits are HIGH and she is getting rest at home.

Many smiles to all in the New Year!

Christmas at Vanderbilt

The Rudloff Family will spend Christmas at Vanderbilt this year. Rita will be getting treatment for several days. Our stockings will be hung on the 11th floor and we hope that Saint Nick finds us all there.

Rita is doing well with the treatments. She is staying strong. She even asked if an exercise bike could be placed in her room. WOW...Rita "Lance Amrstrong" Rudloff!

We hope that Christmas brings peace and love to all of our friends this year! Thanks so very much for all of the prayers and kind thoughts.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

The week ends on a high note!

Rita has spent the last week braving painful and frightening tests leading up to her first round of chemotherapy. Scary as it sounds, you would not believe how wonderful she looks and how well she is doing. She is so strong.

We have been told by her doctor she will need to come back every 2 weeks for more treatment. The doctors are very positive and think that 6 treatments will force the lymphoma into remission. That is our hope and prayer...REMISSION!

As stated before, the treatments require Rita to be in the hospital for several days for her treatments. We are trying to make it the best enviroment we can to keep her spirits HIGH! We will be spending Christmas this year at Vanderbilt, as the next treatment will be Christmas weekend.

Just being with our mom is like having Christmas everyday...she loves life more than anyone I know.

Our family is thankful for the prayers and thoughts of so many wonderful people.

Many smiles,
-andee

Lymphoma

My mom's biopsy results show that she has a rare brain lymphoma usually found in children and persons with an immune deficiency.
Her doctors think that a form of chemotherapy will help force it into remission. Rita will begin her treatment next week. The treatments take 2 to 3 days and she will hospitalized at Vanderbilt during that time. There will be several weeks of treatment needed.

Our family has been researching the treatment as well as the doctors and facilities that will treat her for lymphoma. We feel we have a strong team of medical profesionals at Vanderbilt helping my mom.

We are open to hearing about places and people doing research in the area of brain lymphoma. Feel free to forward information you may have or may find.

Many thanks to so many kind people who have called, written, sent flowers and brought yummy treats to eat. We are all so very thankful!

God bless you!
