Clear for 3 months
Rita visited with Neuro-surgeon Dr. Weaver at the Vanderbilt Medical Clinic August 16th, 2005. It was a fairly long day of running around the Vanderbilt Clinic. Rita finally received a brain MRI and a meeting with Dr.Weaver.
Dr.Weaver decided after viewing Rita's brain MRI(8-16-05) that there were no changes, and in fact the spots looked smaller. Dr.Weaver explained brain MRI results can show changes based on simple things like the MRI machines, different technicians, and her own body. Dr.Weaver explained that the spots in Rita's brain could be a variety of things, but were not showing signs of growth or changes that appear alarming. He wants to keep an eye on her, so she will return to see him in 3 months.
Looks like whatever is in Rita's head will remain there for 3 more months. As long as she is not experiencing any discomfort or serious problems, Rita will be living with the "spots" in her head. She will remain on her seizure medication as prescribed by Dr.Edgeworth.
She will make a return visit to Dr.Weaver right before Thanksgiving to see if there are any changes. We will all be listening to Rita and letting the doctors know of anything that appears suspect.
Until then, Rita will return to her "normal" life.
We are so very thankful. Our family would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful messages, cards and prayers! We are all still hoping for the best! Please click here to sign Rita's Guestbook
