January 5, 2006 Doctor visit
Yesterday my my had a port-a-cath put in to use for the remainder of her chemotherapy treatments. It was an outpatient procedure, and my mom brought her tap shoes...and was out the door in no time. What a great patient!
Good news everyone!!!
My mom's "base line" MRI before treatment was clear, possibly due to the steriods used during her brain biopsy. Once again, when cancer responds well to steriods, that usually means that her cancer will respond very well to treatment.
Technically speaking, that means that my mom is in remission!!!
My mom met with the hematology/oncology doctor, Dr.Greer, today(Jan.5). He said that it is necessary she complete the 6 treatments of chemotherapy. She has currently completed 2 treatments and will begin treatment 3 this weekend. She will continue her treatment every 2 weeks until she has completed all 6 treatments.
Her white blood cell count is high and normal, so she can resume her busy social life and frolicking. In other words, she is free to be FREE!
Thank you for your prayers...happy, happy; joy, joy! Please click here to sign Rita's Guestbook
