Rita went to Vanderbilt on Tuesday for a scheduled MRI. On Wednesday, she underwent brain surgery. She is recovering at Vanderbilt Hospital.

Andee and I stayed with our Mom the night before her surgery. She was her typical exuberant and happy self. She even made the surgeon, nurses and staff laugh on her way to brain surgery. I am constantly amazed and inspired by her strength, sense of humor and zest for life. Mom, I love you more than you will ever know...
